Why Low Code App Development is Taking Over

Low Code App

Build Your Own Low Code App

Lumavate is the leading no code PWA builder. But that requires a little explanation. What is low code? What is a PWA? And why do you want to build a no code PWA application?

Low code platforms are platforms that make it possible to develop an app with very little programming. A low code app can still function just like any other app — but low code platforms make it easier to launch an app fast. Some low code examples include Appian and Mendix.

What is low code development and why is it important? With a low code integration platform, companies choose modules and integrate them into a single application. But because it still requires a specialist to really put the app together, there are very few low code platforms for business developers. The low code platforms are still targeted at a relatively technical audience.

No code app builders don't require any code at all. Consequently, they can support users such as marketing teams and advertisers. Lumavate is the only no code app builder for PWAs: Progressive Web Applications. PWAs are applications that can be used online or on mobile and that operate seamlessly whether they're used online or mobile. They don't need to be downloaded like native mobile applications — but they can still use some of the major features of mobile applications.

Compared to low code platform pricing, no code builders are comparable. But with a no code builder, you only pay for the builder itself. You don't need to pay for the programmer who will need to make the system work. Low code automation is considerably less significant than the automation performed through no code builder.

Lumavate makes it possible for marketers to be agile in the development space, creating no code progressive web apps within days. Otherwise, development time for an app can be months, and it can cost thousands upon thousands of dollars. The Lumavate platform is perfect for beginners because it includes a library of components, design elements, and more for users designing their first app.

And with the Lumavate Library, users are able to pull from an open-source library of code — which extends what they can do with their no code app. Builders interested in finding out more about the benefits of the Lumavate platform can start a free account on Lumavate today.

Appian

Appian is a low code Android app maker. With Appian low code, you can develop an Android app with only a little coding knowledge and the Appian low code guide. You will need to understand some of the basics of programming to create an app. You can also look at Appian code example snippets to figure out more about how Appian works and how you can create an app in it.

You can use two versions of Appian; Appian on premise or Appian cloud. You can also sign up for an Appian trial if you want to learn more about the platform and see how it works. But it doesn't provide free no code application development. While Appian low code pricing is low, it's a low code environment, not a no code environment. Appian pricing varies depending on the activity you expect for your app.

If you want free no code application development, you need to go to Lumavate. You can look at the Lumavate Marketer's Guide to find out more information about how Lumavate works and its advantages.

The major advantage to Lumavate over Appian is, of course, that it generates PWAs. PWAs are the way of the future. A PWA doesn't have to be downloaded to a device; instead, it can be used just like any web application. Still, it has features such as the ability to send notifications to the user's device, making it a hybrid between a native app and a web app. A secondary advantage is that Lumavate is truly no code rather than being low code.

Google App Maker Examples and Definition

Google App Maker was shut down on January 19, 2021 and new app creation was disabled as of April 15, 2020. So, while the Google App Maker was a great utility, it's now defunct.

There were some advantages of the Google App Maker. Google App Maker examples were quite robust and you could find a very good Google App Maker tutorial via Google itself. Google App Maker deployment was completed through Google's servers and the technology was supported by Google, making it very reliable.

But Google App Maker wasn't a PWA builder. Progressive Web Apps: The Future of Mobile Web outlines why PWAs are the way of the future. PWAs are easier for end-users to use, they're easier to maintain, and they're ultimately more affordable, scalable, and robust.

Lumavate is the leading no-code PWA builder. Because it's no code, a Google App Maker expert would be able to easily use the platform to create their own app. And while Google App Maker review comments, Google App Maker templates, and Google App Maker training may all paint the picture of a platform that was powerful, the Google low code app was ultimately shut down.

Will there be a replacement for low code app development Google? It remains to be seen. Google hasn't discussed or confirmed whether it might be interested in creating a new no code or low code platform. Google experiments with many different platforms throughout the years and discontinues most of them.

But though the Google App maker was pretty powerful, it wasn't Lumavate. Lumavate makes it easy to create PWAs in a no code environment — which was more than Google could support. So, when it comes to Google low code low code app development Google, the ship has mostly sailed.

Amazon Web Services - AWS for Everyone

AWS for Everyone is an AWS low code platform built on Amazon Web Services. It's not an Amazon No Code Platform, but Amazon AWS for Everyone is intended to be easier for someone who isn't a programmer to use. Still, it does require some knowledge of development.

Amazon does have some SaaS services that are low code or even no code, depending on what you need to do. But the problem with Amazon is that it can be very archaic. Even experts and professionals will say that the system is overly complex. AWS has been developed over the years rather organically. Even its configuration and optimization usually require some specialized knowledge.

Compared to other no code environments, such as Powerapps vs AWS and Mendix AWS, Amazon is particularly scalable and robust. As Jeff Burtoft, Principal Program Manager Lead at Microsoft discusses in the Mobile Matters Podcast, it's important to bring web and app space together. While Amazon is doing that, the AWS for Everyone platform falls a little short. While people can build their first serverless backend, it's a low code environment rather than a no code environment, and it's an app rather than a PWA.

Amazon Honeycode is another service that Amazon provides as a no-code mobile app development solution. This creates both mobile apps and web apps, and it's very useful for companies and marketers trying to break into the app space. But once again, while it's a no code mobile app development solution, it's not a no code PWA solution. While you can build a mobile app and a website for a business, you would need to maintain these platforms separately — something that can take both time and money.

Outsystems Reviews

Outsystems is a unique low code platform meant for large enterprises. Read any Outsystems review and you'll see it's a highly effective and highly praised platform — except for its pricing. Outsystems pricing is very expensive, with a single app potentially costing a company over $10,000. While the Outsystems low code platform does make it possible to launch an app fast, it's possible for companies to hire a third party to create an app for that amount of money.

Any Outsystems low code review has to address the fact that the platform is very expensive. Plus, as an Outsystems low code tutorial will reveal, it's not a no code platform; you still have to do some programming. The advantage of using Outsystems is that it has a comprehensive Outsystems tutorial and Outsystems wiki, along with highly involved support. Companies that want to build a low code app and don't shy away from the price can get a robust enterprise app with a little coding, but they are going to have to pay for it.

Meanwhile, Lumavate is a no code app builder that comes at a substantially reduced cost. Lumavate has a free subscription plan where users can give app building a try without any cost! Additionally, since it's a no code app builder, anyone can build an app in Lumavate – someone using Outsystems will need to know at least the basics.

Gartner Low Code

Two resources, Gartner and Forrester, are designed to help professionals in the tech industry get a better understanding of what's going on in the market. Both Gartner and Forrester rate low code and no code apps based on whether the companies seem stable, whether they're innovative, and the type of technology and support they provide. The Gartner Low Code Magic Quadrant is designed not only to analyze how well a company is doing now but how well it's likely to do in the future.

Through Gartner low code assessments, you can get a better feel for the big players within the low code space. To be a top Gartner Magic Quadrant Low Code Platform, companies need to be making the right decisions not only on their platform but their company's direction and growth. The Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Low Code Application Platforms is a good place to get started.
